Ukie, (UK Interactive
Entertainment) is the only trade body for the UK's games and interactive
entertainment industry. they are a not-for-profit and represent businesses of all
sizes from small start-ups to large multinational developers, service
companies and publishers, working across
online, mobile apps, consoles, PC, eSports, VR and AR. They provide practical
support, advice, guidance, introductions and discounts on
services as well as key events when you join Ukie. Overall the
company is trying to provide the best service for indie developers and even
developers making a AAA game, they do this because to support and help grow the
UK games industry.
IGDA
The International Game Developers
Association (IGDA) is the largest non-profit membership organisation in the
world serving all individuals who create games. Similar to UKIE this
organisation helps improve the video game industry by supporting developers but
at a international scale
although they are bias because they provide more service to developers making a
AAA game.

Women in video
games have had a better representation compared to film for example Lara Croft
series:
Lara Croft is
a British fictional character and the main protagonist of the Square Enix video game
franchise Tomb Raider. She is presented as beautiful, adventurous but
dangerous too. In this picture she has her head down looking determined and
serious compared to most films and other media where they are mothers or maids.

BAFTA
The British Academy of
Film and Television Arts have recently opened up to video games
acknowledging their potential in the entertainment business so for the video
game industry this is a big step to be recognised by a huge award academy. The
popular title Bloodborne received the highly honoured awarded best
games design which many gamers support. The first to win this was GTA: vice city.
MEF
MEF is an organisation that focus’s on new technology including video games this
technology is presented at huge tech events hosted by MEF, a new technology
that was present in march 2015 was VR which is now in video game industry.
